Art Basel Miami Beach 2018
with Cheryl Donegan, Rainer Ganahl, Charlemagne Palestine

date_from 5 — 9/12/2018

Cheryl Donegan (b. 1962 in Connecticut, lives and works in NYC), Rainer Ganahl (b. 1961 in Austria, lives and works in NYC) and Charlemagne Palestine (b.1947 in Brooklyn, lives and works in the USA/B).

Donegan, Palestine, and Ganahl share an affinity working across mediums, exploring unconventional forms, including academics itself as an aesthetic. A strong bond with performance unites their various approaches. In addition, their indifference to the mastery of media-specific techniques is clear. Instead, each artist leverages their choice of media and its cannon to their own ends.

At this year's Art Basel Miami Beach, each artist will represent a different medium: Cheryl Donegan will be showing three of her latest paintings from the Resist series; Rainer Ganahl will show four photographs from his Seminars/Lectures series, shot no later than last month ; and Charlemagne Palestine will show two new groupings of sculptures using discarded stuffed animals from his gigantic collection.
